Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav will release the India State of Forest Report (ISFR) 2023 tomorrow at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun.
The event will be attended by Minister of State, Kirti Vardhan Singh, and Secretary, Leena Nandan, along with senior officers from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and its associated organizations, including ICFRE, WII, IGNFA, FRI, CASFOS, IRO, BSI, and ZSI. The programme will also see participation from IFS probationers of IGNFA and SFS probationers of CASFOS.
The India State of Forest Report (ISFR) is a biennial publication brought out by the Forest Survey of India (FSI) since 1987. The report provides crucial data on the forest and tree resources of India, derived from two main activities: Forest Cover Mapping (FCM) and the National Forest Inventory (NFI). The 2023 report will be the 18th edition in the ongoing series, offering important insights into the state of the country’s forests.
